"My physician has been deeply impressed by my level of strength and fitness at my middle age. I credit Gyrotonic with my flexibility, strength and joy in movement...."

The GYROKINESIS® Method

Gyrokinesis movements are taught in a group class, and require only the use of a stool and exercise mat. Through a series of gentle and systematic movements, coupled with specific breathing patterns, the entire body is invigorated and released from tension. The repetitive movements allow the joints and muscles to relax, while the internal organs, nervous system and blood circulation are stimulated. The first part of the class is performed seated. You are guided through exercises that encourage the spine to gently flex and stretch in wave-like motions. The class then moves to the floor for the second portion of the work, focusing on strengthening exercises for the back and abdominal muscles. You finish the class standing, with a set of exercises to improve balance and stability. It is a great compliment to the equipment work, and is the core of the Juliu Horvath System™.
